My high school girl friend, Jessica and I used to fight over who got to be Thelma & who got to be Louise. As if we had some sort of persona to perform. The truth is we each identified with both characters. I think a lot of us women do. I'll speak for myself, I want to give others the benefit of the doubt (especially if he looks like Brad Pitt did;) and be Thelma-ish.
