Laura Elizabeth uses sterling silver and 14-karat gold-filled chains. We cast our rings, earrings, pendants, and cuffs in 100% recycled brass and plate them with 3 times more plating than most plated jewelry. This is why you can swim, sweat, and shower in LEJ necklaces.
Gold-filled consists of 5% solid gold that is mechanically bonded to the base metal (bronze/brass). The metals are permanently bound together using heat and pressure.
Gold-plated brass has a thinner layer of gold. It's electroplated/coated and not bonded. It's far more affordable, however, it can be scratched easier and the plating can come off. This is Laura Elizabeth uses 3 times the plating that is normally used. It keeps the jewelry more accessible, while also raising the quality.
Adjustable rings make it easy gift & great if you have arthritis or big knuckles
Laura Elizabeth, our designer has big knuckles and found it difficult to find rings that slid over her knuckles without the ring then fitting loose and moving around. So, she focused on designing rings that were adjustable while remaining timeless and elevated.

Laura, herself struggles with sensitive ears. So, she uses sterling silver or gold-filled earrings backs to prevent any possible irritations. Remember, there is no nickel, lead, or cadmium in any Laura Elizabeth jewelry. Nickel is the biggest culprit when it comes to itchy ears and skin irritations.
