There are charms that tell a story and charms that just look really, really good. This one does both without making a fuss about either. It is a slim vertical bar, understated in shape, but every bit of its surface is doing something. Five round cubic zirconia stones run in a single column down the center, each one bezel set and brilliant, catching light one after another like a little runway of sparkle. The background texture on either side of the stones gives the gold surface a fine organic quality that keeps it from feeling too polished or corporate.

A note on gold filled jewelry from me, your jewelry designer: Gold filled is a different process than gold plating. Instead of a thin layer of gold flashed onto a base metal, gold filled pieces have a much thicker layer of real gold that is bonded to the base under heat and pressure. That makes it far more durable and far more resistant to tarnishing, fading, and everyday wear than plated gold. It can generally handle light water exposure, like washing your hands or getting caught in the rain, without an issue. That said, I would still recommend taking it off before swimming, showering for long periods, or heavy sweating, since prolonged moisture exposure can shorten the life of any gold finish over time.
